Mt Errigal, Dunlewey, Gweedore. County Donegal, Ireland
For ages I have been waiting to come across a real beautiful scene with stacked turf in Irish landscape as I believe it is very iconic and somehow symbolic to our wee country.
On route home from the beach I came across this! I couldn’t have asked for a better setting for this capture. Stacked turf drying on wet bog land surrounded in pools of water and the magnificent Mt Errigal in the background and not covered in clouds for a change! To capture this scene I kept my back to the bright sunset and used the soft amber light to my advantage whilst keeping a low point of view to show the turf stacks in detail
